QUALITY & CI MANAGER
We are looking for a motivated, innovative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit who promotes, develops, and oversees compliance of the company quality system. Effectively assuring compliance of customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs, and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement.
JOB DUTIES
Regularly meets with customer project teams to manage and direct Quality Activities.
Validates quality processes, documenting evidence, determining operational and performance qualifications, writing, and updating quality assurance procedures.
Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
Quality Manager will utilize and teach Lean tools including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke (mistake proofing), etc. Facilitate Kaizen events, as necessary.
Manages the execution and continuous improvement of implementing quality systems across the regional manufacturing sites in a coordinated and standardized rollout. This includes all aspects of procedures, training, and adhering to total product specifications.
Our Quality Manager works directly with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance to quality requirements.
Maintains and improves product quality by completing company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits.
Facilitates analysis and coordinates activities related to process/system improvement projects.
Our Quality Manager communicates with General Managers to coordinate Quality & Lean activities.
Directs and coordinates the activities with General Managers Team engagement in quality functions including inspection, analysis, and training.
Implements measures to improve inspection methods, equipment/tool performance, product quality, efficiency, and morale.
Conduct internal and supervise external process and system audits.
Drives timely customer response to 8D’s, PPAP’s and requests for compliance statements.
Work closely with Process Teams regarding test results, continuous improvements, and quality system requirements.
Visit suppliers and customers as required.
Our Quality Manager acts as key representative for customers to ensure that their quality needs and requirements are being met.
Demonstrate ability to work as a team player and motivate others effectively within a team environment.
Establish programs to improve metrics using continuous improvement tools as well as actively participate in projects that support Lean Manufacturing initiatives resulting in improved profitability, workflow, and team performance. Proactively works to improve quality systems internally and externally to the plant.
Travels as necessary to meet with Divisional General Managers to establish best practices or to work with others in determining root cause or corrective action to quality issues.
Effective facilitation and execution of Value Stream Maps & Kaizen Events through all stages
Independently identifies process gaps, recommends, and implements process improvement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
Post-Secondary qualifications – Engineering .
Extensive knowledge of the quality core tools that include APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, and SPC
Experience with quality requirements and the required documentation: PPAP, 8D, FMEA, APQP, Control Plans
Expert knowledge in ISO9001 / IATF16949
Certified QMS Auditor and highly skilled with improving quality systems.
Demonstrated previous experience as a Lean leader
Knowledge and proven experience in Lean / 6 Sigma
Set, prioritize, and enable the achievement of ambitious goals by influencing and working through others.
Demonstrated ability to develop and embed Lean strategies to drive improvements in both manufacturing and warehouse business processes.
Expert-level knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement methods, as well as industry insight.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, suppliers, and customers.
Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong project management skills required.
Strong facilitation skills (Root Cause Analysis, cross functional teams)
Enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire and motivate people to affect organizational-wide change.
Excellent organization, communication, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills a must
Ability to travel at least 30%
