The Turning Point Rape Crisis Center
Volunteer Advocate for Survivors
The Turning Point Rape Crisis Center, Plano, Texas, us, 75086
Being a volunteer advocate is one of the most critical roles we need to fill. You can be an advocate for survivors of sexual violence through our 24-hour sexual assault hotline or through hospital accompaniment. Help reduce the trauma a survivor experiences from sexual violence by providing unbiased emotional support and information to survivors, family members, and friends. You will also help survivors understand their choices and support them in selecting their options.
Basic requirements for this volunteer opportunity are that you complete an application and background check, complete our 40 hr training (we provide), take at least 1 shift a month, and participate in in-person or virtual advocacy meetings when scheduled.
Training is offered quarterly in January, April, July, and October; this is a hybrid training class
(3 in person, and 7 virtual).
