Quality Inspector

Position Type:

Full-time, On-site

Location:

Knoxville, TN

Shift:

Monday-Thursday, 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM (4x10-hour shifts)

Overtime:

As needed

Base Hourly Range:

$18.00 - $22.00/hr*

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented

Quality Inspector

(also known as

Quality Control Inspector

or

Inspection Technician ) to ensure parts meet strict specifications through comprehensive inspection and adherence to quality standards. This role will involve performing first piece, in-process, and final inspections, utilizing CMMs, and reviewing technical documentation such as blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform visual and dimensional inspections using tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.

Evaluate parts and materials against engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.

Monitor production operations to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Recommend process improvements and provide feedback to production teams.

Operate and maintain testing equipment and software; ensure accurate and timely product validation.

Analyze inspection data and conduct checks including packaging integrity and product weight.

Document inspection results, log defects, and generate non-conformance reports when applicable.

Ensure calibration and proper functioning of measuring equipment.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

Proficient in interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.

Hands-on experience inspecting precision machined parts.

Skilled in the use of inspection tools including digital calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Experience with Zeiss CMMs using Calypso software.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Qualifications:

Familiarity with firearm manufacturing and safety protocols.

Lean manufacturing and 5S methodology experience or certification.

Experience working with CNC machinery and machining processes.
