Role: Head of Procurement
Location: Union County, NJ
Salary: up to $175,000
We're looking for a strategic and results-oriented Head of Procurement to lead sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This leadership role is critical to ensuring supply continuity, driving procurement excellence, and supporting innovation across all categories-from ingredients to packaging.
As Head of Procurement, you'll develop and execute category strategies, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally to support new product development and commercialization. You'll also lead cost-saving initiatives, optimize procurement systems, and use data-driven insights to guide decision-making.
What You'll Do:
Build and implement sourcing strategies grounded in market intelligence and cost modeling
Lead supplier segmentation, qualification, and performance management
Drive savings through contract negotiations, supplier consolidation, and alternative sourcing
Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Planning, and Operations to support innovation and supply needs
Optimize procurement workflows, inventory strategies, and ERP systems
Provide analytics and reporting on procurement KPIs, pricing trends, and working capital impact
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Food Science, or related field (MBA or CPM/CPSM preferred)
8+ years of procurement experience, including leadership roles in food manufacturing
Strong expertise in category management, cost modeling, and supplier negotiation
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and procurement analytics tools (e.g., SIEVO)
Excellent collaboration, project management, and communication skills
Familiarity with food safety standards (BRC, SQF, FDA) and sustainability practices

Pay Details:
$150,000.00 to $175,000.00 per year
