The
Assistant Project Manager (APM)
supports the successful execution of commercial HVAC construction projects by working closely with Project Managers and field teams. This role is designed to build leadership and project management capabilities while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The APM helps coordinate resources, manage documentation, and maintain communication with internal teams and external partners. What You'll Do - Responsibilities Support Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and budgeting for HVAC construction projects; coordinate with other Assistant Project Managers Coordinate procurement of equipment and materials, ensuring timely delivery to job sites. Support subcontractor management, including scheduling, compliance, and performance tracking. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and close-out packages. Monitor project progress and assist with forecasting labor and cost estimates. Conduct site visits to support field teams and ensure alignment with project plans and specifications. Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal team to support project goals. Qualifications (Required) 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role at a mechanical contractor. Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and follow through to complete tasks. Reliable and self-motivated, with a positive attitude and willingness to take initiative Strong communication and teamwork skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Valid driver's license with ability to travel to job sites Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or technical school degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field - or equivalent technical experience and proven reliability Some background in

Assistant Project Managers split their time between office-based planning and field-based coordination. This role requires flexibility to work in both professional settings and active construction sites, with exposure to weather, noise, and mechanical equipment. Regular travel to job sites is expected to support project execution and team collaboration. liaison between the Project Manager and General Contractor , ensuring clear communication and efficient execution. Organize expectations and workflow for subcontractors, confirm material readiness, and solve technical or logistical issues as they arise. Provide leadership by example - supporting, instructing, and at times participating directly in installation activities to maintain project momentum. Manage labor, materials, and equipment efficiently to meet project goals and schedules. Enforce safety standards and proactively identify and address potential hazards. Attend and participate in project meetings; report on progress, challenges, and key metrics. Mentor and develop field staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. Maintain consistent communication with the General Superintendent and Project Manager. What You'll Bring - Qualifications High school diploma or GED; trade school certifications or equivalent field experience. Minimum
10 years of commercial installation HVAC experience Minimum of 3 years

commercial installation HVAC experience. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs/ladders, and stand for extended periods. Project Superintendents work primarily on active construction sites, leading field operations and managing Strictly Mechanical crews and subcontractors. The role is physically active and requires consistent presence in dynamic environments where HVAC systems are being installed. Superintendents must be comfortable working outdoors and indoors, often exposed to weather conditions, construction noise, and mechanical equipment. While occasional office visits may be required for coordination, the position is field-focused and demands strong situational awareness, mobility, and hands-on leadership. Regular travel to job sites is expected.
