Jubilee Foundation - Facility Maintenance Technician Job Description
Broetje Family Trust is an association of three foundations collectively stewarding a family legacy of "bearing fruit that will last" through servant leadership, community building, and philanthropy. We commit to: 1) live and teach the ethic of Christ-centered service through servant leadership development; 2) nurture and create new communities of healing and mutual service locally and internationally; and 3) place resources at the service of those communities.
Tierra Vida is an initiative of the Broetje Family Trust and is housed under Jubilee Foundation, the community building branch of the Trust. Tierra Vida is a safe, resilient neighborhood providing third spaces for to come together and discover greater meaning and purpose in their lives while serving one another in community.
The Facility Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, and upgrades that keep the interior and exterior of apartment complexes and campus wide buildings owned by Jubilee Foundation in first-rate condition as well as help provide stellar maintenance of grounds. Management may adjust work assignments as needed to meet organizational goals and operational requirements. This is a full-time position with a range of $19-21 per hour, depending on experience. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Schedule may shift during inclement weather to ensure safety and maintain property standards. Flexibility is essential.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance functions including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, and ground maintenance as needed.
HVAC: Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues including, but not limited to, heating, cooling and ventilation equipment, and perform necessary repairs.
Plumbing: Install faucets, toilets, dishwashers, refrigerators, all things which are affected by plumbing issues.
Electrical: Repair and/or replace power switches, fuses, and wall sockets; troubleshoot electrically powered appliances such as ceiling lights, range, hood range and smoke alarms.
Painting and Drywall: Apply new coats of paint to minor touch ups, damage to walls and units for move-in ready. Keep apartments visually appealing by using drywall to fill in small holes and cover up normal wear and tear.
Property Exterior Appearance: Ensure the community's exterior remains clean, safe, and visually appealing. Responsibilities include removing litter, performing outdoor repairs, mowing lawns, trimming trees, pulling weeds, and raking leaves. Also, replace outdoor light bulbs to maintain well-lit pathways.
Perform general carpentry duties such as wall repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
Conducts various proactive preventative maintenance including siding, painting, lighting, and sprinkler repair.
Assist with structural pest control measures.
Complete work orders in a timely manner to company and satisfaction and provide work status to the manager to close the work order.
Assist with company property and apartment maintenance emergencies on-call and/or after hours, adhere to established response times and address emergency issues appropriately.
Foster a positive, active, and collaborative relationship with and staff.
Consistently uphold a professional demeanor and maintain a neat, appropriate appearance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Basic to strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
Strong organizational skills to be able to prioritize tasks.
Excellent time management skills to efficiently meet deadlines.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral).
Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining composed in high-pressure situations.
Demonstrate discretion by maintaining confidential information related to , staff, and organizational operations.
Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 150 pounds.
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
Must maintain a valid driver's license.
