Overview: Pacific Industrial Electric is seeking a driven, experienced

Electrical Project Manager

to lead projects from conception through closeout with a focus on profitability, scheduling, and team collaboration. The ideal candidate is someone who is organized and thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. This role is an excellent opportunity for a results-oriented electrical project manager to contribute to a team that takes pride in their work and wants to become part of the P.I.E. family. (Average tenure is 13 years!).

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Knowledge

Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical distribution systems, including 120/208V, 277/480V, and medium/high-voltage (12kV+) applications.

Familiarity with switchgear, MCCs, transformers, generators, ATS units, and grounding/bonding methods.

Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, panel schedules, load calculations, and control schematics.

Knowledge of Title 24 compliance, NEC, NFPA 70E, and relevant state/local codes.

Experience managing conduit layouts, feeder sizing, voltage drop calculations, and circuit coordination studies.

Practical understanding of field installation methods, including trenching, pull planning, and equipment terminations.

Proficiency in reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation for electrical accuracy and code compliance.

Experience coordinating with engineers, inspectors, and utility companies for system energization, testing, and commissioning.

Leadership & Team Development

Manage your projects from start to finish by taking initiative and collaborating with the project management team as needed.

Support the development and success of the project management department.

Promote open communication by sharing project information and updates across all relevant team members.

Meet with your senior manager regularly to report progress and collaborate on project decision making.

Project Management

Maximize project profitability through efficient planning, execution, and value engineering.

Analyze project bids, proposals, budgets, and contracts to ensure complete understanding and alignment.

Understand and manage the full project lifecycle—from pre-construction through closeout.

Navigate Public Works projects and maintain compliance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Continuously evaluate project performance to identify and correct deviations from plan.

Scheduling

Create and manage detailed construction schedules, including all critical path activities and key milestones.

Proactively monitor project progress and adjust timelines as needed to address delays or conflicts.

Lead regular project progress meetings and resolve scheduling conflicts.

Utilize project management software to maintain and communicate real-time schedule updates.

Financial Management

Maintain full awareness of financial status across all assigned projects.

Oversee project finances, including invoicing, forecasting, cost control, and budget management.

Review job cost reports and provide accurate financial projections to senior leadership.

Approve subcontractor invoices and payment applications in accordance with contractual terms.

Track and analyze budget variances, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

Safety & Risk Management

Ensure all field operations and project activities comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

Proactively manage risks and ensure a culture of safety throughout all phases of the project.

Collaborate with our safety partners to maintain project safety compliance.

Administrative & Contractual Management

Produce, maintain, and organized comprehensive project records, including

contracts, RFIs, submittals,

and correspondence.

Coordinate meetings, logistics, and project communications with internal and external stakeholders.

Manage subcontractor agreements and monitor scope, schedule, and compliance.

Process change orders, maintain updated budgets,

and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.

Resolve issues and disputes professionally and in a timely manner to keep projects on track.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in electrical project management and equivalent relevant experience.

3 years minimum experience in Electrical Project Management required

.

Proven leadership capabilities with

experience managing multiple projects

Strong knowledge of public works, electrical systems, and labor agreements

Proficient with project management tools and software

Excellent organizational, analytical, and written communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Experience working in or managing work in a construction type environment

Ability to read and understand prints, drawings, and wiring diagrams
