is a Charter Management Organization (CMO) supporting schools in the Bronx, NY and Stamford, CT. Our programs are based on a proven, nationally recognized model, which originated in our flagship school, the Bronx Charter School for Excellence, a National Blue Ribbon School.

Job Overview

The

Grants Manager

is responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding to support the mission and operations of the school. This role oversees the full grants lifecycle-from research and proposal development to compliance, reporting, and renewal-ensuring that the school maximizes funding opportunities while meeting all regulatory requirements. The Grants Manager works closely with school leadership, finance, and program staff to align grant resources with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Research & Strategy Research and identify federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities that align with school priorities. Build and maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with leadership to develop a funding strategy that supports school initiatives and long-term sustainability. Proposal Development

Write compelling grant proposals, applications, and supporting documents tailored to funder requirements. Coordinate input from instructional, operations, and finance teams to ensure strong proposals. Ensure proposals are accurate, timely, and aligned with compliance standards. Grants Management & Compliance

Oversee post-award grant management, including budget tracking, spending compliance, and programmatic deliverables. Monitor grant expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets. Prepare and submit timely grant reports to funders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, city, and private funding guidelines. Serve as the primary point of contact for funders, auditors, and external stakeholders related to grants. Collaboration & Capacity Building

Partner with Finance to ensure proper coding, reconciliation, and documentation of grant funds. Train school staff on grant requirements and ensure adherence to compliance policies. Provide updates and reports to leadership and the Board regarding grant funding status and opportunities. Relationship Management

Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with grant-making agencies, foundations, and community partners. Stay current on funding trends, policies, and best practices in education and nonprofit grant management. Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree required (Master's in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Education, or related field preferred). 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, management, or development (experience in education or nonprofits strongly preferred). Proven track record of securing and managing government and foundation grants. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and city grant compliance and reporting requirements. Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and grants management software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Commitment to the mission and values of public charter schools. Compensation & Benefits
