Qualifications:

Master's/Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field required.

Valid PA Principal K-12 certification.

Successful teaching experience; administrative experience preferred.

Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and staff evaluation processes.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.

Experience in athletics or activities administration preferred.

Description:

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in providing leadership and management to ensure a safe, effective, and positive learning environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. In addition to traditional administrative responsibilities, this position oversees the school's athletic programs in conjunction with the district Athletic Director, activities programs, ensuring alignment with district goals, compliance with state regulations, and opportunities for student engagement and development.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum and instructional programs to ensure alignment with district and state standards.

- Support teachers through classroom observations, performance evaluations, instructional coaching, and data-driven feedback.

- Collaborate with staff to promote effective teaching practices, curriculum integration, and student-centered learning.

- Participate in the development and monitoring of school improvement plans and academic intervention strategies.

- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of all staff.

- Conduct observations, prepare evaluations, and provide constructive feedback that promotes professional growth.

- Facilitate staff development sessions aligned with school goals.

- Oversee all middle school athletic programs in coordination with district athletic office and league associations.

- Supervise coaches and activity sponsors; ensure compliance with district, state, and league policies.

- Promote student participation in extracurricular and activities as integral components of the school experience.

- Coordinate event logistics, including supervision, facility use, transportation, and event safety.

- Foster community and parental engagement through communication, recognition events, and positive representation of school programs.

- Enforce district and school discipline policies fairly and consistently to maintain a positive and safe school environment.

- Collaborate with families, staff, and community agencies to support student well-being.

- Support the implementation of restorative practices and behavior intervention programs.

- Assist in the development and management of the school's operational and extracurricular budgets.

- Serve as building administrator in the Principal's absence.

- Participate in district-level committees, leadership meetings, and professional development opportunities.

- Maintain visibility at school events, activities, and athletic competitions.

Terms of employment:

Full-time position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Act 93 Compensation plan. Position to begin as soon as possible.
