Summit TRC is looking for an experienced and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team supporting advanced command and control systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between end-users and engineering teams, eliciting, developing, and managing system requirements while contributing to system architecture and integration.
This role will be performed onsite in Huntsville, AL
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with end users to elicit and capture requirements from capability developers, warfighters, and initial capability descriptions
Develop and decompose system-level requirements ensuring traceability across the system lifecycle
Capture use cases, features, and user stories for software and systems development
Analyze and evaluate system architectures and implementations, including review of engineering artifacts and source code
Develop and document system-of-systems (SoS) architectures and configurations
Identify and design key command-and-control (C2) interfaces and data connections between sensors, shooters, and C2 systems
Manage requirements development and maintenance in MBSE toolsets
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a relevant field
5+ years of relevant experience
Active Secret clearance
Domain expertise (Weapon systems including sensors, shooters, and command-and-control integration)
Strong experience writing, deriving, decomposing, and managing requirements
Familiarity with MBSE and using tools like Cameo, SysML, UML, DoDAF, or UAF
Familiarity with modern software development technologies
Self-starter and critical thinker with the ability to brief senior leadership
Desired Qualifications:
Software or DevSecOps background with the ability to read source code
Algorithm development experience
Agile methodology experience
Use case, epic, feature, and user story development experience
