CPP Cudahy is looking for a Water Spider (Production Support Associate) to support production in ensuring continuous material and workflow in multiple departments within back-end oprations.

Pay rate: $18-$20 per hour.

Work schedule: st shift- Monday-Friday from 4am-12:30 pm; Saturdays and OT as needed.

Primary Purpose:

The Water Spider is a dedicated production support role responsible for ensuring continuous material and workflow in multiple departments within back-end operations, including NDT (Xray and Penetrant), Welding, Shipping/Receiving, Sandblast, and Straightening. This role focuses on replenishing supplies, staging work, moving parts between processes, and maintaining workplace organization so that skilled operators and inspectors can concentrate on their value-added tasks. The Water Spider acts as a "circulating runner," keeping all work centers supplied, organized, and flowing efficiently

Essential Functions:

General Support Duties

• Follow established "water spider" routes to deliver and collect parts, tools, and materials across assigned departments.

• Move castings and components safely between work centers (e.g., from Sandblast to Welding, from X-ray to Shipping).

• Monitor and replenish consumables (film, penetrant chemicals, welding rods, blasting media, protective gear, etc.).

• Collect completed travelers and ensure all parts maintain correct documentation and traceability.

• Maintain 5S/lean organization standards in support areas and staging zones.

• Escalate shortages, bottlenecks, or equipment issues to the Back End Manager immediately

NDT (X-Ray & Penetrant) Support

• Deliver exposed films to the darkroom and return processed film to radiographers.

• Stage parts for penetrant inspection and ensure penetrant tanks are stocked with proper chemicals.

• Assist with part flow between NDT areas and downstream processes.

Welding Department Support

• Stage parts and materials for welders to maximize arc-on time.

• Replenish welding supplies (rods, wire, gas cylinders, fixtures, PPE).

• Move repaired castings to the next operation (heat treat, machining, or inspection).

Shipping/Receiving Support

• Transport parts to and from shipping/receiving for packing or part marking.

• Deliver packaging materials, labels, or crates to workstations as needed.

• Support clerks by staging orders in shipping lanes for quicker turnaround.

Sandblast & Straightening Support

• Deliver raw or semi-finished parts to sandblast stations and remove completed parts.

• Refill blasting media, masks, gloves, and other consumables.

• Stage parts for straightening presses or fixtures and move them to the next operation

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Experience in a manufacturing, foundry, or warehouse environment.

• Ability to safely operate carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment. • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow schedules.

Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments.

Preferred:

• Prior aerospace foundry or manufacturing experience.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and "water spider" concepts.

• Experience supporting NDT, Welding, or Shipping operations.

• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)

Working Conditions:

Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.

The physical effort applied in this job includes lifting, pulling, reaching, manipulating, carrying, pushing, or shoveling.

Manufacturing requires repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms.
