Position Summary The Major Gift Officer will be responsible for qualifying major donors and cultivating existing major donor relationships for Cumberland Heights. This position will report to and work closely with the Chief Development & Marketing Officer and the Director of Philanthropy to implement a comprehensive major gift strategy. The officer will identify and develop new and existing donor relationships to support the overall development plan, and will seek to secure philanthropic support aligned with donor interests. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Confidently represent the vision and impact of Cumberland Heights mission to donors, demonstrating passion for making treatment available and helping donors achieve their philanthropic goals. Collaborate with the Chief Development & Marketing Officer and Director of Philanthropy to analyze the donor database, identify prospects, cultivate relationships, and establish an appropriate donor portfolio. Manage cultivation, asks, and stewardship for up to 150 major donor relationships and set individual goals based on giving history and capacity. Develop a moves management plan for each donor to solicit, steward, and increase gifts in a timely manner. Engage with clinicians and other stakeholders to better understand the mission and serve as a connection point to donors. Work with development, marketing, and program staff to obtain project and budget information to create meaningful proposals and asks, and report impact back to donors. Write effective solicitations and donor communications that demonstrate impact and encourage higher levels of giving. Create and send updates and reports illustrating donor impact; coordinate with Grants Manager for foundation-based donors requiring standard reporting. Utilize Raisers Edge NXT or similar database to plan and track moves management progress and donor communications. Produce timely analytical giving reports showing trends in participation, giving, and retention. Support Cumberland Heights events and appreciation receptions to engage major donors and strengthen relationships. Participate in weekly development team meetings and interdepartmental communication to ensure prospects and donors are properly engaged. Requirements Bachelors degree preferred with 35 years of successful major gift fundraising or equivalent nonprofit experience Experience with volunteers and/or special events preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and write in English Strong presentation, administrative, organizational, and project management skills Attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving abilities Strong interpersonal skills and ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Ability to meet multiple deadlines Broad knowledge of fundraising principles Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel; experience with Raisers Edge or similar database preferred If recovering, two years of verifiable abstinence required with five years preferred; active participation in the Twelve Step Program preferred Work Environment Office setting with typical safety precautions Ability to lift up to 20 pounds Ability to speak, hear, see, sit, walk, stand, reach, and use fine/gross motor skills Occasional travel to meetings and events with flexible hours Employment type Full-time Referral information and job postings for related roles are available separately. #J-18808-Ljbffr
