Procurement Associate Director - Global EMI
Base pay range: $150,900.00/yr - $249,000.00/yr

About The Role As Procurement Associate Director - Global EMI you will report to and work in close liaison with the Procurement Director - Global EMI, Contract Manufacturing and Supply Network Transformation. You will be accountable to lead a team of global category managers and enable their groundbreaking strategies and excellence in supplier relationship management for a diverse portfolio of global categories in the area of Electromechanical and Instrumentation (including Electronics, Motors, Sensors, Power Supply, Cables & Connectors, Connectivity, Embedded Software and other subcategories) through your servant leadership and guidance.

Your Main Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of high-impact global category managers
Support your team in the definition and communication of category strategies in alignment with business requirements and market conditions to drive savings and value opportunities across BD
Ensure continuous refreshes and updates of category strategies are performed by category managers based on internal and external sensing
Collaborate with category managers, business unit procurement teams, R&D sourcing teams and internal customers to deliver recommendations for incorporating category strategies and value delivery into business commitments for review and approval
Support category managers to ensure supplier selection is aligned with sourcing strategies and has the required approval
Facilitate assignment of supplier relationship owners and communicate assignments into the business
Guide category managers on supplier relationship management to ensure delivery of quarterly business reviews with suppliers, multi-year value plans with preferred suppliers, and third-party innovation and sustainability activities built into category strategies
Empower and support category managers in negotiation planning, negotiations, and contracting with suppliers
Support development and maintenance of risk mitigation plans for the assigned category portfolio
Take financial accountability and ensure price movement is handled effectively and budget objectives are met
Guide category managers to ensure optimal supply base compliance, including corporate procedures and legislation requirements
About You
Self-starter mentality and growth mindset to challenge status quo
Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the healthcare industry
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
Commitment to results and a consistent track record of delivering outcomes
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and colleagues
Proven initiative and ability to implement procurement strategies effectively
Strong business acumen and ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term strategy
Basic Qualifications Required
BS/BA degree with 8-10+ years of relevant experience with manufacturing environments in direct materials Category Management, Procurement, Sourcing, Operations, or Supply Chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Experience with contract manufacturing and electro-mechanical, mechatronic and medical instrumentation supply bases and categories is a plus
Previous people management experience is preferred
Work Environment Travel may be required up to 30% of time. At BD, on-site collaboration is prioritized to foster creativity and problem-solving. For most roles, a minimum of 4 days in-office per week is expected, with flexibility where applicable. Remote or field-based positions will have different workplace arrangements indicated in the job posting. Some roles may require proof of full COVID-19 vaccination where permitted by law.
