Minimum
8 years
of experience as a comptroller or full-time bookkeeper in New York City residential rental properties. Expertise in
Yardi
and Excel accounting software. Strong accounting, file management, and computer skills. Ability to interact effectively with the CEO, executive staff, CPAs, and lawyers. Property Accounting Manager Preferred Background & Skills
Familiarity with managing both regulated and deregulated apartment buildings. Experience with corporate accounting functions, including A/R and A/P management. Knowledge of DHCR regulations and property registration processes. Property Accounting Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of corporate bookkeeping for
400 apartments , including free market, rent stabilized, and rent controlled units, as well as office, retail, and medical spaces. Manage corporate accounting functions such as check deposits, invoices, security deposits, and cash management. Ensure monthly reconciliation of accounts and maintain accurate financial records. Register regulated apartments with the DHCR and file annual property registrations. Oversee employee payroll through ADP, union payments, and employee benefits. Interface with banks and collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
