Senior Structural Engineer

based in our

newly opened and rapidly growing Richmond, VA office . This is a rare opportunity to work with an award-winning firm that values innovation, collaboration, and its people above all. You'll tackle a mix of

transportation and waterfront infrastructure projects

for high-profile clients including

VDOT, the U.S. Navy, and major commercial developers .

What Youll Do: Key Responsibilities Lead complex structural design and inspection projects involving

bridges, ancillary transportation structures, piers, wharves, and bulkheads . Provide expert-level engineering consultation to project teams and clients to ensure full compliance with codes, specifications, and design standards. Manage and resolve field and design challenges in real-time. Conduct and oversee detailed project planning, scheduling, and technical phases. Supervise and mentor engineering staff, ensuring timely project delivery and quality control. Prepare technical reports, proposals, and published articles to support business development. Represent the firm at client meetings and industry events (some travel required). Maintain a strong safety-first mindset and ensure team compliance with health and safety practices. Engage with technical societies and contribute to thought leadership within the industry. What You Bring: Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. 10+ years of progressive experience

in structural engineering, with an emphasis on

bridge design, inspections, or marine structures . Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Structural Engineer (S.E.) license

is required. Demonstrated expertise in structural inspections and computations using industry-standard software. Previous experience managing both field and office-based projects. Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of mentoring junior engineers. Why Youll Love Working Here
