Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Logistics Supervisor
to join our operations team in
Houston, TX . This is an on-site, front-line leadership role responsible for daily logistics execution and compliance across truck, rail, barge, and pipeline operations. The Logistics Supervisor ensures safe, compliant, and efficient material movement, supervises logistics personnel, manages scheduling and maintenance coordination, and oversees DOT, FRA, TSA, and facility security compliance.
This role also serves as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) for the Houston site and may support Baytown, ensuring compliance with MTSA requirements and site security program execution.
What you will be doing:
Lead day-to-day logistics operations for truck, rail, barge, and pipeline product movement Manage supply chain workflows including inventory tracking, scheduling, and troubleshooting Attend maintenance/ I&E planning meetings and provide priority lists for weekly work Direct logistics personnel and oversee performance, attendance, and discipline Ensure logistics support for turnaround and major maintenance activities Maintain and update operating documentation and SOP compliance Check inventory levels daily to support production and shipment plans Coordinate pipeline flushing, heating, freeze protection, and thermal relief procedures Ensure proper documentation and photo records for daily tank car operations Enter events and action items into Enablon; track and close actions on time Perform monthly & quarterly logistics inspections and audits Request and prioritize logistics maintenance work orders Monitor pipeline and tank heat tracing during freeze season Confirm operation of scrubbers and sampling activities Ensure compliance with DOT, TSA, FRA, USCG, and plant security requirements Maintain FSO/FSP responsibilities and ensure MTSA compliance Conduct routine inspections, observations, and drills (ERT/ security) Support incident reporting and corrective action closure Enforce safe work practices and Life Critical Procedures Supervise logistics operators and loaders; coordinate daily staffing Ensure personnel complete required training and certifications (TWIC, FSO, DOT, etc.) Support cross-training and personnel development in all logistics functions Provide weekend support coverage as needed Walk up to ½ mile intervals, climb stairs/ladders, and work in field environments Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally Work in outdoor conditions, extreme heat, and industrial environment Required PPE use (FR clothing, hardhat, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, safety shoes) Required Qualifications:
Valid TWIC required High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred Experience in chemical, refinery, terminal, or industrial logistics operations Hands-on knowledge of truck/rail loading, pipeline movement, and tank operations Experience supervising plant logistics teams Strong communication & leadership skills Able to work in industrial outdoor environment Tankerman certification (not required, but beneficial) Knowledge of Enablon or digital safety systems
