Geotechnical Engineer - Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc.
Location: Nashville, TN Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more. Duties/Responsibilities Provide geotechnical engineering and guidance for due diligence, investigation, impact assessment, improvement, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector. Tasks may include research, design, analysis, concept development, planning, and construction of roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, canals, levees, bridges, airports, water supply systems, underground storage, and sewage treatment. Perform professional geotechnical engineering work including subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, slope stability, and related analyses for commercial, industrial, building, infrastructure, and transportation projects. Lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and preparation/review of related reports. Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on design and construction issues involving rock and soil mechanics; investigate subsurface and geological conditions to design and build foundations, earth structures, and pavement sub-grades. Prepare technical reports summarizing research findings and conclusions, with complete documentation using sketches, calculations, electronic systems, spreadsheets, and software. Develop work plans and coordinate field/site work and laboratory testing. Provide support during construction including submittal reviews, responses to requests for information, and contract document clarifications.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT is preferred 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience Ability to prepare complete, concise, and organized engineering calculations and reports Proficient in Geotechnical software including gINT, Slope/W, Seep/W, APILE, LPILE, GRLWeap, Settle3D (or other settlement software) Ability to travel to project sites and access construction sites in varied climates and environments Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable Good verbal and written communication skills
