THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING A newly formed global manufacturer built from the merger of legacy companies with over 160 years of industry leadership A growing corporate function actively building out internal trade compliance capabilities after transitioning from external vendors Reports to a highly engaged leader with full autonomy over the Americas trade compliance strategy Collaborative, cross-functional environment partnering closely with Procurement, Legal, and Logistics teams Organization focused on modernization, scalability, and operational excellence as it defines its post-merger identity

LOCATION

Preferred in Charlotte, NC or Evansville, IN; hybrid model with four days on-site per week Open to remote consideration for highly qualified candidates

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

Serves as the gatekeeper for import/export compliance across the Americas region Ensures goods move seamlessly while maintaining strict adherence to international regulations and tariff requirements Supports a high-volume, fast-paced trade environment through accurate classification, documentation, and reporting Builds structure, consistency, and compliance rigor as the company transitions away from third-party management Provides critical partnership to procurement and legal teams, ensuring compliant and efficient global trade practices

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

2-4 years of experience in trade compliance or customs operations Solid understanding of U.S. import/export regulations (CBP, EAR, OFAC; ITAR exposure helpful) Proven collaboration with customs brokers and freight forwarders; comfortable operating within ERP environments Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and SAP Skilled in product classification (HTS, ECCN, Schedule B) and documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin) Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple shipments and competing deadlines in a fast-paced setting Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) a plus, not required
