Position Description

LABORERS NEEDED - Concrete Construction

Los Angeles, CA

JT Wimsatt Contracting, Inc., a building industry leader, founded in 1992, delivering projects with superior quality, on time and within budget for our clients. JT Wimsatt serves both public and private sector clients with a range of commercial, industrial, residential, government and specialty construction projects.

This is a Union position - LiUNA

Laborers support work on our current projects throughout Los Angeles County. Previous concrete labor or equivalent experience highly desirable but not required. This position reports to the job Foreman and/or Superintendent.

Candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug screen/physical and must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States upon an offer of employment and/or hired.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading material and equipment

• Identifying building materials and tools. Distribute to the appropriate locations as directed

• Cleaning construction sites to eliminate possible hazards

• Erecting and disassembling scaffolding,

• Shoring

• Concrete Formwork

• Shoveling and vibrating concrete

• Digging ditches, trenches

• Using picks, shovels, and jack hammers

• Stripping formwork

• Dismantle and clean forms after use

• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

1+ year of Commercial concrete experience Ability toLift up to 75 lbs., work on heights and walk on uneven ground Work around heavy equipment and Machinery Handle exposure to noise and extreme temperatures Must use protective equipment Must have some tools (hammer, tool belt, 25' tape measure and pliers) Must be authorized to work in the U.S. At least 18 years old
