Job Description
Maintain, install, repair, etc. a wide variety of heavy industrial production machinery in a large brass and copper mill including all types of welding, piping, plumbing and mechanical maintenance and repair work. Duties include:
Utilize skills and appropriate tools to install, maintain, and repair heavy industrial machinery Set up, clamp, pre-heat, and welds all types of metals (cast iron and steel, carbon and alloy steels, copper, brass, aluminum, etc.) Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry, valves, pumps, and various water, steam, gas, systems Requirements
Experience in industrial mechanical repair, piping, and welding (triple-traded preferred). Journeyman is a PLUS Tools and Equipment proficiency (as many of these as possible is a PLUS): hand and air tools, grinders, measuring instruments, hoisting/rigging, forklifts, welders, torches, generators, drill press, overhead crane, hydraulic press, electric threading machine, pipe bending tools, etc. Comfortable utilizing prints, drawings, shim stock, spare parts, rolls, shear blades, etc. Physically capable of handling heavy loads (materials over 50 lbs. are moved mechanically) Know the expansion / contraction of metals and proper fluxes, rods, torch sizes, fuel mixtures, speeds, currents, etc. Benefits
