Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of the Research Foundation for SUNY Accounts Payable and Purchasing Office (APPO) and working closely with the Clerical Specialist, the AP Specialist is responsible for providing support to all aspects of accounts payable. This includes processing and monitoring payments. The individual will be an integral member of a fast-paced team operation and will work closely with other members of the research administrative team to provide support to Binghamton University's sponsored program community. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Essential Functions Process accounts payable invoices and requisitions for payment, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals prior to processing Monitor the RFBUAP email inbox and take appropriate action on requests received Assist with processing of payments associated with honoraria and other similar requests Ensure all accounts payable activity is completed in a timely manner for project closeout Compile financial reports as requested, ensuring data is accurate by verifying financial data from multiple sources Assist with internal control processes Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management in accordance with record retention policies Review processes and provide input on how to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the accounts payable function Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned Requirements:
High school diploma and one to two years of accounts payable or business office experience Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel Strong written and verbal communications skills Good time-management skills with ability to prioritize Ability to work effectively under pressure by handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting all stated deadlines Excellent attention to detail, consistently demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness Ability to work independently, monitoring own work to ensure quality, as well as in a team environment. Must be able to maintain confidential information Must be customer service oriented and be able to work with a large customer base that requires timely and accurate attention and action Preferred:
Associated degree in a business-related field and one to two years of accounts payable or business office experience Experience with Oracle Business System is preferred Additional Information:
Salary:
