Summary:
The Youth Mentoring Generalist will focus on the serving youth with education & career case management services. The case manager will serve refugee youth between the ages of 15-24 years, building client marketable skills and collaborate with the in-house employment program. The case manager will also network with local high schools, colleges, and continuing education providers to assist youth with their education and career plans. The case manager will work with the Coordinator, and act as a liaison for Catholic Charities, refugee youth and youth mentors to represent the program to maintain collaborative partnerships. This case manager will work with youth to develop short & long term goals, and will guide them towards completing their service plan while active in the program.
Position Responsibilities:
• *Able to work with refugee youth, ages of 15-24, to provide education and career case management.
• *Conduct orientation, client enrollment and verify client eligibility.
• *Provide academic support to students needing guidance in school, such as: tutoring, setting up parent/teacher meetings, assist with college applications, enrolling youth in vocational/GED programs, applying for student financial aid and or other school related services.
• *Will create spreadsheets and other tracking tools to keep organized and to document services to youth. Able to input, and retrieve data from and external online Refugee Database, to keep track of all client information and program goals.
• * Collaborate and refer clients with other in house programs, including Employment, Education and Case Management Services.
• Perform additional supportive services and make referrals to community partners for youth when necessary.
• Perform regular maintenance of client's case files.
• Outreach and present to community partners such as school districts, universities and colleges and other entities to collaborate on potential partnerships and recruiting of mentors.
• Outreach to potential clients by conducting home visits or other outreach efforts, and follow procedures for enrolling youth into the Refugee Youth Mentoring Program.
• Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
• Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.
• Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
• Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
• Education
Bachelor's degree/ OR Experience Minimum of (1) years working in a social service environment that demonstrates a sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations, and or experience working with volunteers or mentors is preferred. • License and Credentials
Reliable transportation, must have vehicle Valid driver license Valid vehicle insurance Ability to operate an agency 12 passenger van on an as needed basis for program activities and events. Must be 21 years of age and adhere to the CCAOSA policy, which will not allow anyone under the age of 21 to operate an agency vehicle Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum of 1 years' experience in working in a social service environment that demonstrates a sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations is preferred. Experience with personal computer, various computer software, email and Microsoft Works, specifically Excel. Must be detailed oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team; Must have good written and verbal skills; Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to maintain appropriate ethical boundaries and professional client relationship
