Job Summary:
Join our dedicated team in providing exceptional mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, and crisis intervention for adults and children presenting various psychiatric needs. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to create and manage tailored treatment plans for each member.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical treatment programs for Health Plan members experiencing acute or chronic mental health conditions. Engage actively in your team's planning sessions to enhance treatment strategies. Deliver outpatient psychotherapy sessions for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Educate and counsel patients and their families on adherence to therapy and medication regimens, delivering compassionate support. Offer psychoeducational classes and group sessions as needed.
Maintain comprehensive, confidential records, including intake summaries and treatment plans, in compliance with state and NCQA standards. Participate in the department's on-call rotation as required.
Work collaboratively with physicians to assess patients’ needs for psychotropic medications and utilize resources from community and public agencies to provide well-rounded support. Contribute to behavioral medicine initiatives in diverse environments.
Supervise post-master's fellows and associate-level counselors as appropriate, ensuring a nurturing learning environment.
Engage with families, providing critical support, instruction, and resources to enhance understanding and adherence to treatment plans.
Actively participate in departmental program development and evaluation, identifying and utilizing external resources as necessary. Report any safety concerns to relevant agencies.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience: N/A
Education: A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or related fields from an accredited institution is essential.
License, Certification, Registration: Must hold a valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor license in California. If applicable, complete the Couples and Families Endorsement within 24 months of hire. National Provider Identifier required at the time of hiring.
Additional Requirements:
Familiarity with DSM-V for diagnostic purposes.
Experience in assessing and treating a range of psychiatric conditions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of applicable social service agencies and regulations regarding patient rights and confidentiality.
Ability to participate in the department's on-call rotation.
Understanding of Evidence-Based Practices and psychotherapy research methods.
Knowledge of the bio-psycho-social factors influencing mental health.
Accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan development skills.
Expertise in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity.
Commitment to high-quality service and teamwork in a multidisciplinary clinic.
Aptitude for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Willingness to work within a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on a psychiatric treatment team in outpatient or inpatient settings.
Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and various psychotherapy modalities.
Professional maturity and integrity.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Accurate diagnostic skills and treatment plan efficacy.
Proficiency in individual, family, and group therapy techniques.
