is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to support a major defense program in Ventura, CA. This is a one-year contract-to-hire position offering hands-on work with advanced missile launch system components for U.S. and allied naval programs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in failure analysis, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems, with an emphasis on bringing components back to fully operational condition.
Required Skills and Qualifications Experience performing
failure analysis, troubleshooting, repairs, and retesting of VLS components Ability to bring systems to Code A condition for use by U.S. and foreign naval forces Proficiency in using electronic test equipment, diagnostic tools, and repair instruments Experience performing electronic maintenance, repair, and overhaul Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and repair instructions Skilled in using hand tools, small power tools, and precision measuring equipment Strong understanding of standard repair and testing methods, procedures, and specifications Preferred Skills
Prior experience in defense or naval electronics maintenance environments Familiarity with calibration, testing, and performance verification processes Ability to analyze test results and recommend product or process improvements Knowledge of statistical process control or similar quality verification methods Proven ability to support engineering teams in refining test and repair procedures Position Overview
The Electronics Technician will be responsible for performing detailed failure analysis, troubleshooting, and repair of Vertical Launch System (VLS) components. This position requires a mix of technical skill, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability to return complex electronic systems to operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct tests and evaluations of electronic assemblies and subsystems Set up and operate test apparatus and diagnostic tools following established methods Perform repairs and adjustments to restore functionality of electronic components Modify electronic systems per engineering diagrams, sketches, or test procedures Replace or repair malfunctioning components based on analysis and test results Assist engineers in developing new test procedures and recommending design or process improvements Verify quality through inspection and testing, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications
