The Fellow Engineer / Trainer will provide advanced technical expertise and leadership in assigned areas of engineering specialization while supporting training development for Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS). This role combines technical problem-solving and staff augmentation services in support of the training program. The position will involve Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) of assigned instructional programs per approved Training Program Descriptions and Training Plans.

This position requires extensive engineering experience and demonstrated subject matter expertise. The Fellow Engineer / Trainer will contribute to advancing knowledge within their field through research, publications, and professional engagement. Primary Duties Apply advanced technical experience in a specialized or multidisciplinary engineering field to resolve complex problems. Incorporate advanced technical practices and complex features such as specialized materials, processes, or coordination requirements into solutions. Provide leadership in developing solutions to technical problems; serve as an internal expert in assigned discipline(s). Develop, design, and deliver technical training materials to support SRNS engineering programs using the ADDIE methodology. Attend training to qualify for Subject Matter Expert (SME) and instructor status for assigned engineering courses. Review and provide input for course content and exam improvements. Grade exams, provide feedback to students, and instruct specified engineering courses. Prepare schedules, budgets, and personnel plans for major technical tasks. Develop and monitor project progress and budgets, including quality assurance and testing requirements. Prepare written and verbal reports, manuscripts, and technical communications for internal and external audiences. Support continuous improvement of engineering and training documentation, manuals, and standards. Additional Work Requirements Flexible schedule; may work part-time (up to 32 hours/week) as needed. Local presence in Aiken, SC required. No travel anticipated unless specifically approved by procurement via funded requisition. Travel for conferences or external training is not reimbursable.

Job Requirements

Minimum Security Clearance:

Required Education and Experience

Education:

Ph.D. degree with approximately 10 years of experience,

OR M.S. degree with approximately 12 years of experience,

OR B.S. degree with approximately 15 years of experience. Additional Education Requirement:

Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in an applicable engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Nuclear, Chemical, Computer Science, or related field). Experience/Skills:

Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience. Considered an internal expert in area of expertise. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and contribute to advancing knowledge in the field through publications or professional presentations. Experience in developing or delivering technical training preferred. Familiarity with engineering manuals, procedures, standards, and engineering programs at SRS preferred. Excellent communication and presentation skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Ability to develop and deliver technical classroom training required. Experience at DOE or commercial nuclear facilities preferred. Other Required Qualifications Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not required to begin work. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for clearance based on work assignments.

Preferred Qualifications Possession of an active DOE "L" or "Q" clearance within the past two (2) years preferred. Previous SRS experience strongly preferred. Prior teaching or instructional development experience preferred.
