Lead Engineer

to head our multidisciplinary engineering team. Your role will be pivotal in advancing the U.S. DoD capabilities in counter WMD and Hardened Facility defeat through superior analysis, modeling, and simulation of critical processes and infrastructures. You will harness advanced technologies, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tools, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), while shaping the technical vision and strategy of our initiatives. Your leadership will fuel innovation and enhance production workflow, leading to the delivery of impactful models, simulations, and reports that support planning, acquisition, and capability development. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will guide the technical direction of our engineering and modeling teams, ensuring alignment with program objectives, including: Fostering a culture of innovation by encouraging exploration of new technologies in building information management and functional vulnerability analysis.

Collaborating closely with program management to make key decisions and maintain quality of engineering solutions.

Working alongside the BIM Coordinator to establish and implement BIM standards, protocols, and workflows, ensuring compliance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).

Leading the integration of BIM models across various disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP) and ensuring effective interdisciplinary coordination.

Partnering with the Chief Software Architect to define engineering and modeling requirements that support software development, leveraging AI/ML technologies.

Collaborating with the Chief Scientist to identify modeling and simulation requirements for complex systems analysis.

Working in tandem with Engineering Production Leads to oversee production processes and achieve or exceed annual production objectives.

Required Security Clearance: MUST possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph or TS/SCI with capability to obtain polygraph clearance.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education: Master's degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, plumbing, controls) with 15+ years of relevant experience, or a Doctorate with 13+ years and experience in technical and personnel management.

Experience in developing digital twin technologies or 3D simulation networks.

Proven track record in managing/leading large, cross-functional engineering teams.

Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems.

KEY requirement:

Experience as a BIM Manager or working on facility projects with expertise in executing BIM Execution Plans.

Proficiency in BIM software including Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM360.

Experience with digital twin technologies and 3D modeling/simulation applications.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Education: Experience or collaboration with facility managers.

Knowledge of both above-ground and below-ground facility operations.

Familiarity with industrial IoT platforms, SCADA systems, BMS, ICS, PLC.

Understanding of protective engineering or physical force protection measures.

Experience with vulnerability analysis or protective design against weapon effects.

Certificate of Management - Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM) from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

Expertise in 3D Modeling/Simulation/Analytics.
