Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our dynamic team. The Welder will be responsible for performing welding tasks to assemble and fabricate metal structures and components according to specifications. This role requires proficiency in various welding techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
Welding nickel 55/45 wire to cast-iron as a filler or to build back up or to fill in part erosion/cavitation
Welds all types of metals and alloys of various sizes, shapes, and thicknesses, including dissimilar metals such as steel.
Operates various hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
May set up, operate, and/or tend to robots that weld, braze, solder, or heat treat metal products, components, or assemblies.
Read and understand fabrication blueprints/drawings;
Fit metal components as per provided blueprints/drawings and specifications, ensuring all tolerances are met;
Using processes such as GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) and FCAW to fuse together metal segments;
Operate welding equipment (manual or semi-automatic), metal shaping machines;
Ensuring that all tasks are performed in the allotted time provided and in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and company policies and procedures;
Basic maintenance of welding equipment.
As required, operate metal working equipment including shear, press brake, roll forming machine, saws, etc.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of experience welding
2+ years of fitting experience
Core Competencies:
Experience and ability to read and understand fabrication prints;
Manual Dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination;
Able to stand for extended periods of time and handle heavy loads (up to 50lbs)
Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and as a team
Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions
Preferences:
GTAW, SMAW and Sub-arc welding experience
Reading and understanding blueprints
The ability to pass a GMAW/FCAW 6G test.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
This position will be based in Moody, AL with minimal anticipated travel.
