Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of amusement park rides, waterpark rides, including pools, slides, pumps, filtration systems, and equipment, buildings, and facilities to ensure the safety, reliability, and smooth operation of all attractions and park infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on, safety-conscious individual with strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of rides and attractions for proper function and safety compliance.

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Respond promptly to ride or equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

Troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools and equipment and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Maintain and repair mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, filters, and plumbing systems.

Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Assist with seasonal park setup and teardown (e.g., ride assembly/disassembly, winterization).

Ensure all tools and equipment are used and stored properly.

Follow all safety procedures and protocols; wear proper PPE.

Support other departments (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical) as needed.

Maintain clean and organized maintenance workspaces.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Keep detailed records of work performed and parts used.

Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems.

Perform general facility upkeep such as painting, carpentry, and cleaning.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or GED.

1–3 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or general maintenance (or a related field).

Ability to work at heights, in varying weather conditions, and in physically demanding environments.

Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

:

Technical or trade school certification.

Previous experience in theme/amusement parks, entertainment venues, or similar environments.

Welding, fabrication, or ride inspection experience is a plus.

Familiarity with OSHA regulations and ride safety codes (ASTM, NAARSO, AIMS).

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more.

Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and access tight spaces.

Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, and walking outdoors.

Work Environment:

Outdoor and indoor work environments with exposure to noise, weather, and machinery.

Fast-paced and safety-critical setting.
