Procurement Specialist
We are seeking a dynamic Procurement Specialist who will be instrumental in identifying and securing cost-effective sources for materials and services. This pivotal role reports to the Commodity Manager or Director of Sourcing and involves analyzing total cost of ownership, negotiating supplier contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive cost analysis and negotiate terms to achieve optimal procurement outcomes.
Identify and qualify suppliers, ensuring they meet all quality, cost, and customer requirements.
Support supplier transitions, including re-sourcing and consolidations, while ensuring uninterrupted supply chain operations.
Lead cost-saving initiatives by negotiating pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and lead times.
Analyze market pricing trends and historical data to uncover cost reduction opportunities and address pricing variances.
Track and assess supplier performance using key performance metrics and maintain supplier scorecards for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with trade regulations, product standards, and organizational sourcing policies.
Collaborate closely with teams in engineering, manufacturing, and quality to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
Compile and analyze sourcing data from business intelligence reports and ERP systems to support strategic decision-making.
Adhere to ethical sourcing standards and sustainability initiatives, integrating them into sourcing activities.
Conduct regular business reviews with suppliers to optimize their performance, mitigate risks, and promote supplier development.
Work in partnership with cross-functional teams, including logistics, production, and finance, to enhance procurement efficiency and support supply chain goals.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
Demonstrated negotiation and contract management skills.
Knowledge of global supply markets and commodity pricing trends.
Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing supplier and stakeholder relationships.
Able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Compensation Starting At:
$65,000 This competitive pay is based on various factors such as labor market conditions, education, skills, work experience, and certifications.
