- The incumbent will lead activities related to equipment characteristic improvement for the department by performing true root cause analysis of top problems, implementing countermeasures and leading investment projects to meet department/plant needs. Facilitate department S, Q, and D metric target achievement.
- Manufacturing Equipment Expert:
Equipment top problem root cause analysis and permanent countermeasure.
Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends related to equipment performance.
Identify improvement opportunities for Key Performance Indicators and for cost avoidance/elimination.
Become an expert in a specific area of automation technology (i.e. PLC, Motion Control, Robotics, etc…) and train associates on equipment or process changes.
Lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment. (Spare Parts, Procedures, PMs - Project Management:
Define and create scope of design and construction for renovation, upgrade of existing electrical systems, or for build of a new system with a focus on cost control. Conduct PDCA during design and implementation stage. Create, implement and maintain project schedules and achieve desired results. Present project activity and justifications to management to gain approval.
Review, verify and approve engineering drawings at the various design completion levels. Work with and manage contractors' activities throughout the different phases of a project - New Technology:
Use manufacturing expertise to support company’s development of new processes - End-of-Life Planning:
Understand department equipment characteristics as they relate to end-of-life/replacement/upgrade. Identify critical equipment for inclusion to long-term replacement strategy, support prioritization and timing of individual replacements, and support department overall investment strategy and justification.
This is an onsite job based at our East Liberty Auto Plant, in Ohio
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or similar degree or equivalent related experience
- 2 to 8 years relevant work experience based on education
- Ability to interact in a team environment
- Microsoft Office, 3D modelling/electrical design software
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship
