Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead Person, the Mechanic B is responsible for preventive maintenance, minor repairs on all packaging machines. Also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

Responsibilities:

Perform all preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance Troubleshoots, assesses, and repairs most minor electrical on manufacturing/packaging issues, including manufacturing / packaging equipment Set up and changeovers in a timely manner without supervision of all machines Troubleshoot a minimum 24 volts to 220 volts plus At least 4 years of experience successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment. Must have knowledge and experience with repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC systems and industrial equipment. Advanced troubleshooting technique used to diagnose the root of the problem and inspect, repair, and test the machinery. Modifies and/or replaces parts on all production and manufacturing equipment as needed. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Use Reference Resources such as workbooks and drawings use technical manuals, their understanding of industrial equipment, and careful observation to discover the cause of a problem. Maintain work area, maintenance shop, parts and supplies area cleaned and organized. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training High school diploma or equivalency preferred Must be mechanically and electrical inclined and can use all standard tools of the trade including electrical test meters Minimum of 4 years' Experience working in and around mechanical equipment, preferably in a pharmaceutical/nutraceutical environment High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed Must be able to read and write in English Must be able to lift 50lbs Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish). Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours
