Position Summary

Ilmor is proud to support the ARCA and NASCAR Truck series with expert trackside support for our engine customers.

The primary role of the contract trackside technician is to support our NASCAR and ARCA program with technical engine support at various races around the country. The individual is required to support our customers at all NASCAR truck series races and other race series events as required. The successful contractor will thrive in a team environment, be highly motivated, and is expected to deliver a world-class customer experience.

All travel expenses are covered by Ilmor.

Candidates must live within a commutable distance of the Statesville, NC Regional Airport

Major Areas of Responsibility Customer Service - Provide exceptional service by promptly and professionally addressing customer needs. Data Analysis - Download and analyze engine data to identify performance trends and issues. Relationship Building - Cultivate positive, lasting relationships with all customers. Engine Knowledge and Assessments - Conduct thorough mechanical evaluations of customer engines for necessary repairs, lead the repair process as needed Knowledge of the Ilmor 396 engine used in the NCTS and ARCA series. Procedural Compliance - Adhere to established procedures for engine warm-up, diagnostics, and repairs specific to our engine package. Travel - Regular travel to racetracks, including flights and overnight stays in hotels. Visual Inspections - Perform detailed visual inspections of engines, wiring, and undercarriage components to ensure proper functionality. Skills

Communication - Strong, effective communication with customers, team leaders, and program managers. Computer Skills - Proficient in basic computer usage and applications. English Language - Solid understanding of the English language structure, including spelling and word meanings. Mechanical Skills - Competent in performing engine repairs and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Professionalism - Consistently maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactions. Technical Knowledge - In-depth understanding of race engine components, their functions, and diagnostic procedures. Time Management - Skilled at managing time efficiently and effectively, especially under high-pressure situations. Experience

2+ years' experience in a trackside support role. Hands-on Technical Engine experience. Holley EFI software experience. CDL-A desired Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand. The employee is frequently required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, use tools or controls and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel crouch, crawl and talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, some instances of this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
