The

Manager of Data Analysis and Reporting

will be responsible for the day-to-day management of data collection, analysis, and reporting within the district. This position will coordinate the management of district data reports, and work collaboratively with school and district staff to ensure that data is accurate, accessible, and used to support instructional decisions and district goals. The Manager will play a key role in ensuring data integrity, tracking student progress, and providing key insights to improve organizational and student outcomes.

The Providence Public School District (PPSD) serves approximately 22,000 students (about the seating capacity of Madison Square Garden) attending our 37 schools. PPSD employs more than 3,200 professionals who work in and provide support to our schools, which include 20 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, 11 high schools, and 2 public district charter schools. Of our employees, about 2,000 are educators, and over 600 others directly support our schools' students and families.

Our schools are diverse learning communities. Approximately 68% of our students are Latinx, 15% Black, 7% White, 4% Asian, 5.5% Multi-racial and 1% Native American. Approximately 40% of students are multilingual, and about 16% receive special education services. Approximately 55% of students come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken. Our students and families speak more than 55 languages and hail from 91 countries of origin.

REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Data and Strategy

EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience in a related field. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an educational setting, with a strong background in data analysis and accountability systems. Proven experience working with K-12 educational data, including standardized testing, and state/federal accountability measures. Proficiency with a Student Information System (SIS), with strong preference for experience with the

Skyward SIS . Demonstrated experience completing complex data tasks and analysis using advanced features of

Microsoft Excel . Strong analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy and the ability to interpret and communicate data findings clearly. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present data to various audiences. Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is required. Ability to build collaborative relationships with various district departments and stakeholders. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously. Commitment to the belief that data can be a powerful tool for improving outcomes for all students. Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Analysis (50%)

Data Analysis: Interpret and analyze student performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for instructional improvement. Synthesize key findings from data analysis and prepare clear, concise reports to communicate these findings to stakeholders, including school leaders and instructional teams. Respond to internal data requests from various district departments, providing timely and actionable data to meet their specific needs. Data Systems Oversight: Develops project plans for systems implementations based on knowledge of relevant data models and architecture, manage and maintain district-wide data systems, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility. Work with IT staff and external vendors to enhance the district's data infrastructure and reporting tools. Ensure that the district complies with all state and federal reporting requirements. RIDE Accountability: Review accountability data from Rhode Island Department of Education to ensure data accuracy. Develop interactive dashboards that provide schools with real-time access to their accountability data. Data Visualization & Stakeholder Engagement (50%)

Data Visualization (Power BI): Create data visualizations and dashboards to provide actionable insights for end users. Work with end users to ensure that data visualizations and dashboards align with existing structures and routines within the district. Translate complex data into clear, understandable messages and insights, providing recommendations on how to effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences. Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for end users of data visualization tools, ensuring they can effectively interpret and use the data. Collaboration: Collaborate with various district departments to align data initiatives with overall educational goals and strategies. Work Environment and Conditions: Full-time, year-round position. Requires the majority of the day to include computer screens or similar. Required the majority of the day at a sitting or standing desk. May be assigned other duties by Supervisor. Travel within the district may be necessary to support schools and attend meetings.
