About the Role

Seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to provide critical IT support services to the Department of the Navy's Office of Civilian Human Resources at the Washington Navy Yard. This mid-level role requires a proactive and technically proficient professional with strong communication and analytical skills to manage SharePoint content, support end-users, and maintain IT assets. The ideal candidate will have DoD experience and a current DoD SECRET clearance, working onsite to support mission-critical IT functions.

Job Responsibilities

Provide Tier I and II IT support including troubleshooting hardware and software issues for OCHR staff. Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies across Outlook, OneDrive, and related M365 services. Support setup, configuration, maintenance, and security compliance of end-user devices. Serve as SharePoint Content Manager for internal and external OCHR portals. Train program managers and staff on SharePoint content preparation, publishing, and organization. Analyze SharePoint sites for usability and efficiency improvements using best practices. Develop and maintain job aids, instructional materials, and documentation with images and screenshots. Respond to and resolve SharePoint-related helpdesk tickets. Manage IT asset inventory including laptops and phones. Assist in developing basic automated checklists, intake forms, and workflow tools using Power Apps. Required Skills

Job Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT support with a focus on SharePoint content management and governance. Current DoD SECRET Security Clearance. CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification. Experience working with Department of Defense military, civilian, or contractor environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work onsite full-time at the Washington Navy Yard during government business hours. Experience managing user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Microsoft 365 services. Ability to develop training materials and conduct end-user training on SharePoint. Willingness to complete DoD and Microsoft training as required.
