Position Summary: The Family Crisis Intervention Therapist will provide short-term, crisis-focused counseling and interventions for students and their families. This role supports the emotional, social, and mental well-being of students in acute or high-stress situations, while connecting families with long-term resources and community supports. The Family Crisis Intervention Therapist will collaborate closely with school counselors, social workers, administrators, and teachers to ensure students receive the care and stability needed to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide immediate crisis intervention and short-term therapeutic support to students and families. Conduct assessments of students' mental health and safety needs during crisis situations. Develop and implement individualized crisis response and stabilization plans. Collaborate with parents/guardians, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to address student needs. Facilitate family meetings to support communication, problem-solving, and access to resources. Provide referrals and link families to appropriate community services and long-term care providers. Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines. Deliver staff training on crisis response, trauma-informed practices, and mental health awareness. Participate in crisis prevention initiatives and contribute to school-wide wellness strategies. Support the transition of students from short term or other outside placements back to the school setting and design transition plans in collaboration with students, families, and outside agencies. Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required. State licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent required. Minimum 2-3 years of experience providing crisis counseling or trauma-informed therapy (school-based experience preferred). Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, family dynamics, and trauma-informed practices. Exceptional communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and in high-pressure situations. Preferred Skills:

Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages). Experience in school systems or youth-serving organizations. Training in suicide prevention, threat assessment, or crisis stabilization models. Standard Requirements:
