Accounts Payable Specialist Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience 2+ years of accounts payable experience demonstrating progression in accounting responsibilities Excellent customer service skills - both written and verbal Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Strong reasoning ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in a fast-paced environment Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage workload effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word and Excel Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Teams for communication Capable of handling administrative tasks reliably (e.g., mail handling) Flexible and able to allocate additional time during peak periods (e.g., month-end close, audits) Accounts Payable Specialist? Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Understanding of basic accounting principles, standards, and common office procedures Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred; SAP or Concur experience a plus) Willingness to learn and advance, with potential for growth into more advanced roles
Accounts Payable Specialist? Description: The AP Specialist will primarily support invoice processing and auditing, with additional administrative and payroll-related tasks. The role has evolved to focus more heavily on AP responsibilities due to performance gaps in the previous hire. Enterprise Financial Services is growing and we are adding a permanent Accounting Specialist- Accounts Payable to our accounting department. As our Accounts Payable Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the overall success of our team and company. Our ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, be collaborative, inquisitive, a problem solver, and be a positive addition to the team.
As our Accounts Payable Specialist, you will:
Handle a variety of accounts payable responsibilities, including: Entering AP invoices for three domestic subsidiaries, analyzing vendor invoices for proper accounting treatment (period expenses, fixed asset capitalization, prepayments, etc.) Monitoring and following up on AP email inbox correspondence and invoice approvals in a timely manner Reviewing employee expense reports and addressing questions or issues as needed Managing vendor setup and maintenance Serving as a payment processing backup Assisting Staff Accountants with monthly AP accruals Assisting with 1099 processing at year end Complete other assigned tasks as required, including: Performing miscellaneous recurring and non-recurring accounting processes and tasks (e.g., supplying vendor supplemental data) Providing supporting documentation for quarterly reviews and annual financial statement audits Contributing ideas for improving accounting process efficiency and assisting with implementation of process changes Performing other general accounting duties and/or special projects as needed Primary (75%) :
Entering, reviewing, and auditing invoice entries Supporting AP processes and data entry
Secondary (25%) :
Administrative tasks (e.g., mail handling) Payroll assistance Ad hoc project support
