We are looking for an

Engineering Manager, Stress & Thermal Analysis

to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external customers to understand technical and project scope for both new product development and traditional product needs. The candidate will assign and manage analytical resources to deliver value-added, analytical solutions on-time and within cost allocations. He/she will foster continuous improvement in processes and methods to complete work and develop a collaborative group of subject matter experts tailored to meet business needs.

Responsibilities will fundamentally center on the management of engineering personnel. Skill set development, monitoring career progression and ensuring appropriate assignments for direct reports is required to facilitate continued advancement of the CW engineering work force. In addition to a strong technical aptitude, the Engineering Manager must have leadership skills used in guiding the engineering teams.

Your Challenge:

Interact effectively and flexibly with internal and external customers to address technical needs including negotiation activities, technical meetings, and review and approval of technical reports

Assign and manage work to meet technical and project requirements on-time and within cost allocations

Foster continuous improvement

Provide clear expectations when delegating tasks to analysts

Effectively and efficiently plan analytical work

Define, grow and maintain key analytical skills to meet business needs

Provide challenging and stretch assignments to develop analysts, including cross-functional assignments

Actively mentor engineers to ensure knowledge transfer

Acts in alignment with organizational vision

Conduct periodic performance reviews of direct reports, providing constructive feedback and performance/development goals

Collaborate with EMD (Electro-Mechanical Division) engineering management team in manpower assignments and engineering process improvements/implementation

What you Bring:

Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens

Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred

Minimum Experience: 10 years

Experience in performing or leading work in the following areas is preferred:

Finite Element Analysis

Structural Analysis including working knowledge of pressure vessel codes

Transient Thermal and Stress Analysis

Registered Professional Engineer preferred

Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a technical team

Travel:

5-10% travel expected
