Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced CT Technologist with at least 3 years of CT experience and ARRT (CT) certification for an acute care assignment.
Responsibilities Position based in an acute care radiology department with 2 CT rooms Works with adult and general patient populations including head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, and biopsies Average of 65 CT scans per day across a 24-hour period 12-hour rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Weekend coverage every other weekend and possible inclusion in holiday rotation Staffing includes 3 technologists per day and some nursing support for IVs and premedication Uses GE VCT 64 slice and Siemens Somatom Definition 64 slice CT scanners EMR system is Cerner CommunityWorks, PACS is Intellirad/Intelliconnect No requirement to float to other departments Possible to be the only technologist in the department overnight Five-shift orientation with a preceptor provided Duties include CT imaging of routine cases and biopsies, as well as sterile tray setup Willing to train on biopsy procedures if needed Clean and professional scrubs of any color may be worn; emerald green optional to match permanent staff Supervision from Imaging Director, Manager, and Lead Tech, with additional phone support always available Radiologist on site until 5pm, then on call; Vrad coverage for overnight interpreting 2am-6am First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former employees of WVU Medicine facilities must have a 2-year gap before returning as a traveler; cumulative experience across WVU applies Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible Travelers may not work at WVU Medicine facilities for more than one year consecutively and must take a 2-year break after
Requirements Minimum of 3 years CT experience required ARRT (CT) certification preferred; will consider strong candidates with 3-5 years of CT experience BLS certification required West Virginia X-ray license required, license required if applicable IV start experience is required Must be able to multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment WV CARES clearance required prior to start
