Electrical Design Engineer (Altium / SOM & Client Design)
Location: Cedarburg, WI (preferred) or Irvine, CA - Onsite only
Type: Full-time (contract-to-hire or direct hire through staffing partner)
Overview:
Ezurio is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with advanced proficiency in Altium Designer to design, route, and validate complex embedded hardware platforms based on NXP i.MX System-on-Modules (SOMs) and Single-Board Computers (Clients). The engineer will collaborate closely with firmware and mechanical teams to deliver reliable, production-ready hardware for IoT and wireless embedded solutions.
Responsibilities:
Full lifecycle PCB schematic capture and layout in Altium Designer. Routing of high-speed digital signals and memory interfaces (DDR, eMMC, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, LVDS, etc.). Design and validation of power distribution networks and signal integrity. Collaborate with software, mechanical, and test teams for board bring-up and verification. Generate and manage BOMs, design documentation, and PCB fabrication packages. Conduct DFM/DFT reviews and participate in design reviews. Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Expert-level Altium Designer experience (schematic + routing). Proven experience designing NXP i.MX, TI Sitara, or similar embedded SOM/Client hardware. Strong understanding of high-speed design, impedance control, EMC, and power regulation. Familiarity with communication buses: USB, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, LVDS, SDIO, etc. Ability to work onsite in Cedarburg, WI (preferred) or Irvine, CA. Strong documentation and collaboration skills. Preferred:
Experience with IoT or wireless product design. Hands-on board bring-up and debugging. Experience with compliance and validation testing.
