Position Summary:
The Procurement Specialist - LTL & Parcel is responsible for supporting transportation procurement strategies focused on Less-than-Truckload (LTL) and small parcel shipments. This role will lead data-driven analysis of carrier performance, freight spend, and rate optimization, and support the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives that improve service levels and reduce costs.
Primary Responsibilities Conduct detailed spend analysis and benchmark freight rates for LTL and parcel transportation across multiple regions. Assist with sourcing initiatives, including RFP development, carrier selection, rate negotiations, and contract management. Monitor and evaluate carrier performance metrics (on-time delivery, claims ratio, invoice accuracy) and provide actionable insights to improve performance. Collaborate with Logistics, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure alignment between procurement strategies and business needs. Maintain rate databases and ensure up-to-date contract and tariff documentation. Track and report cost-saving initiatives and procurement KPIs. Support budget planning and freight forecasting by providing cost modeling and variance analysis. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across the transportation procurement function. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field required. 5 plus years of experience in transportation procurement, logistics, or supply chain analytics. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data visualization); experience with Tableau or Power BI is a plus. Familiarity with TMS systems and freight audit platforms. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Applies this expertise to support sourcing strategies, contract negotiations, and cost analysis. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilizes advanced analytical skills to extract insights from transportation spend, performance metrics, and carrier data. Translates complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations to optimize cost and service. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively partners with internal stakeholders (e.g., Logistics, Operations, Finance) and external carriers to align procurement initiatives with business goals. Communicates clearly and builds trust to drive results in a matrixed environment. Travel:
