POSITION:
Maintenance Attendant I - Sanitation
POSITION NO: 7.178
DEPT: Public Works
This is manual labor in the Grounds Division of Public Works. Responsibilities include a variety of grounds and general maintenance tasks for parks, athletic, and recreation facilities, and projects throughout the City, and operating related equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knowledge of grounds maintenance tools and equipment; native plant material. Ability to learn the City's geographical area. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength and endurance. Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver bulky and heavy materials; lift objects up to 75 pounds and routinely lift up to 50 pounds overhead. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public. Training, Certification, and Experience
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Work experience in heavy manual labor including grounds and general maintenance. Or, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Special Requirements
Valid Florida driver's license.
Copies of required certification(s) must be submitted with the application.
