Taylor County Corporation
We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator with expertise in Microsoft 365 administration to join our IT team. This role is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our IT systems, with a primary focus on Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, implement best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient technology services.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration
Maintain and troubleshoot Windows servers, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and supporting infrastructure. Monitor system performance, apply patches, and ensure systems remain up to date and secure. Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for escalated technical issues. Implement and maintain security best practices and system hardening across the stack. Ensure systems and configurations adhere to relevant compliance frameworks (e.g. CJIS, NIST, County standards). Proactively anticipate and mitigate single points of failure, system degradation, capacity issues, or security vulnerabilities. Collaborate with cybersecurity, help desk, and leadership teams to ensure smooth operations.
Microsoft 365 Administration
Administer and optimize Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID. Conduct assessments of the M365 tenant to identify opportunities for improved governance, security posture, and operational efficiency; develop and implement a prioritized improvement roadmap. Develop and maintain policies, standards, and procedures for tenant configuration, access controls, compliance, and administration. Recommend and implement Microsoft 365 best practices across identity, collaboration, and security services, ensuring alignment with relevant compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, CJIS, NIST 800-53). Provide Tier 3 support and serve as a technical advisor during M365 migration or optimization projects, validating migration plans, sequencing, risks, and data integrity. Maintain clear and detailed documentation including system configurations, technical runbooks, and change logs.
Skills and Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar IT role. Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience. Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced-environment
Preferred
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python). Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Experience with SQL databases. Experience with Cisco networking. Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft)
Salary: $70,000 annually + benefits
