Job Purpose: Oversees all camp activities, programming, campers, and staff for summer day camp. The Girl Scout Day Camp Manager promotes unity, positivity, and customer-friendly service throughout all facets of the camp.
Essential Functions
Promote and support Girl Scout program philosophies of the GSUSA & GSCTX. Responsible for coordinating all camp activities including food service, programming, scheduling staff and volunteer management. Ensure camp is providing quality programming and camp experience for campers in keeping with Girl Scout objectives, outcomes, Health Department regulations, and Safety Activity Checkpoints. Responsible for ensuring health and safety of all campers and staff. Responsible for providing records of day camp attendance and program participation. Responsible for maintaining cohesive camp environment by communicating with management staff, and Camp Services Director. Provide quality customer service that resolves concerns in a timely manner. Engages in problem-solving skills, by clarifying desired information, researching, locating and delivering findings and solutions. Displays professional demeanor, and integrity at all times. Maintains strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information. Ability to effectively interact, work, and collaborate with people of various cultural backgrounds and promote an environment of inclusivity. Adheres to the policies of the Girl Scouts of Central Texas and promotes Girl Scouting in a positive manner to the public as well as to all internal and external customers. Performs other duties or assists with other projects as assigned. Required Qualifications
Camp or classroom administrative experience and general knowledge. Adheres to Personnel Policies for Seasonal Camp Staff. Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision, as well as take initiative in making decisions. Proven leadership ability working with children ages six through seventeen. Proven ability to supervise multiple staff and continuous activities. Ability to make a commitment to the philosophy of Girl Scouting, both nationally and locally. Ability to effectively interact, work, and collaborate with people of various cultural backgrounds and promote an environment of inclusivity. Yearly membership in GSUSA is required. Satisfactory results from a criminal background check are required. Preferred Qualifications
Training in Girl Scout outdoor program, camp counseling, leadership, and training techniques is preferred. First aid training is desirable. Fluent in Spanish and English is preferred. Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting upper body. Capable of lifting up to 50lbs. Capable of viewing computer monitor for long periods.
Environmental Demands
Outdoor activity and exposure to weather. Continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate camp staff attire. Continuous work as a team member and ability to work independently with some supervision. Frequent work under stress and under pressure of deadlines with overlapping projects. Continuous ability to work well with others.
