Direct Counsel
Direct Counsel has partnered with a prestigious law firm that specializes in subrogation. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a range of civil litigation matters from inception through trial, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled litigator to gain hands-on experience and grow within a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters independently and in collaboration with senior attorneys Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions Develop case strategies and provide sound legal advice to clients Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses Participate in settlement negotiations and prepare trial materials Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and internal procedures Maintain accurate and organized case files and billing records Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active bar membership in California 2+ years of civil litigation experience required Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service Preferred Experience:
