The Bilingual Home Visitor
delivers school and/or community-based parent education (group and/or individual) and home-visiting services to pregnant and/or parenting adults and their young children. The position duties described herein are subject to any/all contractual guidelines that may govern service delivery. Supportive services are also extended to significant family members, (within the scope of program services). Home visiting services will involve travel and visiting residences within communities. Staff will work evenings and some weekends. Home Visitors must demonstrate knowledge of communities and in working with diverse populations. Home Visitor's role and responsibilities include assessment of parent, child, and family's needs and providing developmentally appropriate information, guidance, and support to parents.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Conduct program enrollment (intake screening and assessment) of pregnant and/or parenting program participants Involves obtaining consent, engaging parents, and identifying and linking families to services (based upon need upon enrollment). Maintain a caseload of 24 children. Provide individual case management and/or assistance to families as warranted to help sustain program participation. Must provide crisis intervention as needed to help resolve/ameliorate crisis and to facilitate access to agency and/or community resources. Provide, plan, and implementation of home visits, parenting groups, and parent-child activities. Provide advocacy, outreach, referral, and linkage to agency and community resources, as warranted or upon request. May involve the coordination of service delivery by multiple service providers to facilitate receipt of services. Refer and link families to early intervention services. Including monitoring and tracking childhood immunizations and developmental screenings of children if needed. Prepare all required quantitative and qualitative reports and documentation according to department and contract guidelines. Reporting mode may include both manual and computer-generated systems for collecting, storing, and retrieving data. The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Child Development, or a related field. Gateway Family Specialist Credential Level 5. At least two years experience providing direct service delivery to parents (including their dependent child (ren) and immediate family members). Experience working with federal/state contracts and foundations desired. Excellent written and interpersonal skills required. Bilingual (Spanish/English) Must have access to reliable and efficient transportation that will allow for the completion of caseload responsibility
Salary: $48,200/year.
