TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

USW Union, Custodial/Maintenance Group Rate of pay $19.17 per hour. One (1) full-time position for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Eight (8) hours per day, Twelve (12) months per year, with a 90-day probationary period. Hours of work are 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. The start date is upon expiration of the posting deadline in accordance with Article XIII, Section C, 2. GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can independently manage specific projects while collaborating with various departments to support broader organizational goals. A key responsibility of this role is to maintain a safe, comfortable, and high-quality work environment for all members of the organization.

OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with tenants, contractors, and management. Perform all maintenance and repair work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. Ability to use building management systems (BMS) and other software for monitoring, logging, and reporting. Regularly inspect buildings, systems, and equipment to identify and diagnose potential issues before they become major problems. Complete basic carpentry tasks, such as repairing walls, floors, furniture, and installing fixtures like dispensers and chalkboards. Perform minor plumbing work, including repairing leaks in faucets and drain lines, and clearing obstructions. Apply basic painting, masonry, and roofing knowledge to address issues and maintain a high-quality appearance. Replace damaged floor and ceiling tiles. Move and arrange furniture and equipment for special events and classroom activities. Coordinate and oversee the work of external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, maintenance, and installations. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and indoor air quality. Work as a team to develop and implement regular maintenance programs for all building systems and equipment to proactively identify and fix potential issues before they cause system failure. Safely operate full-size vehicles to include box trucks, forklifts, and man lifts (certification training provided). Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies such as power outages, leaks, and system failures to minimize damage, disruption, and ensure occupant safety. Unlock buildings at the beginning of the shift as needed and secure all buildings at the end of the shift. Willingness to work weekends or outside of your normal scheduled hours for special events or emergencies. This position is also on an emergency call list for our fire and burglary systems in the event of an after-hours situation. To comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste. During snow and ice events, assists with distributing sand or salt on the sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate. To have a positive attitude in working with students, parents, staff members, and community members. Strive to promote the safety, health, and comfort of students, employees, and visitors. Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality with all students, staff, and operational information. Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license is required (Chauffeur's License preferred) Minimum of three years of relevant experience required. Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds Functional reading and writing skills. Basic knowledge of computer operations. Able to work with a diverse staff, student population, and the public. The ability to work in various conditions, including at heights, in inclement weather, and in confined spaces. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
