Position Summary

The Electrical Manager will oversee all electrical construction, installation, commissioning, and quality assurance activities on utility-scale solar projects. This role is responsible for managing electrical crews, subcontractors, and vendors while ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, safety standards, and project schedules. The Electrical Manager will work closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to deliver high-quality solar facilities on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Oversight Lead and manage all electrical aspects of utility-scale solar projects, including medium-voltage (MV), high-voltage (HV), and low-voltage (LV) systems. Oversee installation of inverters, transformers, switchgear, PV modules, cabling, and monitoring systems. Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, NEC, IEEE, NFPA, NESC, and local utility standards. Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams to align installation sequencing.

Team Leadership & Coordination Manage electrical supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and site labor. Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to team members. Act as the primary liaison with engineering, utilities, inspectors, and third-party testing agencies.

Quality & Compliance Review and approve electrical installation methods, procedures, and submittals. Conduct quality inspections and verify compliance with engineering standards. Oversee testing and commissioning activities (e.g., insulation resistance, continuity testing, relay testing, and functional checks).

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Enforce strict adherence to company and OSHA safety policies. Ensure electrical lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc flash protocols are implemented. Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and support a strong safety culture on site.

Planning & Reporting Develop and manage electrical construction schedules in coordination with project controls. Track material deliveries, equipment usage, and crew productivity. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for leadership and clients.

Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum

8+ years

of experience in electrical construction, with at least

5 years in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or power generation . Strong background in

medium- and high-voltage electrical systems

and utility interconnection. Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar EPC projects.

Technical Skills Deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NESC codes. Familiarity with SCADA, protection systems, and commissioning procedures. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6).

Soft Skills Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions Site-based role with frequent presence on active construction sites. Extended hours, nights, or weekends may be required depending on project demands. Outdoor work in varying weather conditions and terrain.
