Position Summary:

Responsible for the operation, installation and monitoring of the fresh air fans exhaust fans, cooling towers, domestic furnaces, hot and chilled water, closed loop systems and associated equipment. Maintains, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and plumbing equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Performs preventive maintenance on cooling towers, fresh air/exhaust fans, domestic furnace, hot/chilled closed loop system according to proper schedule

Analyzes cooling tower/closed loop water systems and makes necessary adjustments

Performs preventive maintenance on all refrigerators, ice machine, air/water cooled condensing units according to proper schedule

Dismantles, cleans, inspects and replaces defective parts on all refrigerators, ice machines, air/water cooled condensing units

Dismantles, inspects, and replaces defective parts on cooling towers, fresh air/exhaust fans, domestic furnaces, hot/chilled closed loop systems to insure optimum

Cleans and paints all assigned equipment

Assists Boiler Operator as needed

Maintains tools in proper repair and uses proper safety techniques while completing assignments

Assists in seasonal outside work, such as snow shoveling, spreading of sand or salt, snow plowing parking lots and driveways and similar tasks

Responds to codes as appropriate

Assures timely and quality completion of assigned work in compliance with department standards and procedures

Performs other department related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Refrigerant Recovery License, “Universal” 1,2,3

Minimum 1 year of job related experience

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Preferred:

3rd class Engineers License

Associate’s Degree in related field

Previous experience as HVAC Technician in a Health Care Setting#LI-AR1
