Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager
Richelieu Foods, Inc., a Freiberger Group Company, is a leading supplier of high-quality food products to the private label and food service industries. The company has two manufacturing centers that produce frozen & deli pizza, and pizza crusts.
We are seeking an experienced
Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager . This role reports to the Director of Manufacturing Operations. The CI Manager is responsible for executing cost improvement opportunities activities such as waste identification and elimination, set-up improvement, materials optimization, the creation of standard operating procedures and machine training documentation, the deployment of Zero Loss activities and basic project management.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Study existing processes across the plant to identify opportunities to drive out waste, improve process efficiency and plant profitability. Deliver more than $200,000 savings annually and share improvement activities across RFI plants. Lead consistent application and improvement of downtime tracking in Aptean Factory and data reporting using BI reports. Build new reports in BI as necessary. Assist in the deployment of daily management systems into the plant culture to drive sustained improvements in performance and support Zero Loss/Zero Defect activities. Lead and influences the work of other employees with a focus on administering established policies and procedures, developing new procedures. Provide expertise and leadership in the areas of change management, waste reduction, process simplification, Lean principles and Six Sigma problem solving techniques. Build the capability of existing plant personnel to solve problems. Conduct routine line speed trials and lost time studies to drive plant efficiency. Execute regular audits to verify routines are in place and contribute as expected and identifies opportunities for further improvement. Conduct Kaizen events to drive improvements in plant performance. Develop and deliver relevant training and coaching to ensure employees are appropriately educated throughout the business regarding waste reduction, process improvement, root cause analysis and overall cost improvement. Develop and maintain specific training materials for our skilled machine operator positions that include core competencies and technical training materials used for qualification of machine operators Support budgeting and strategic planning. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrated track record of operations improvement using the DMAIC process Excellent oral, written, and communication skills required Effective problem-solving skills - Analytically minded and data-driven Leads with a high level of integrity and accountability Patience, perseverance, and passion to drive a Lean culture across the plant Experience in developing, implementing, and improving key performance indicator metrics through strong data analysis and continuous improvement EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Business / Operations or BS in Engineering 4+ years of technical / operations experience with focus on CI activities in manufacturing Green Belt certification required with Black Belt certification a plus Bilingual - English and Spanish is preferred Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, or DMAIC experience Previous hands-on and practical experience in using value stream mapping and implementing lean tools with proven results in at least the following areas: 5S+1, Visual Management, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, SMED and TPM preferred
Universal Pay Verbiage:
The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $110,000 and $130,000. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus. Benefits for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401K with company match, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.
