Job Title: Dual Craft Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Dual Craft Maintenance Technician with at least 3 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading schematics and blueprints, and have experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, valves, air compressors, and boilers. Training on ammonia will be provided.

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.

Troubleshoot machinery and perform routine preventative maintenance.

Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operation manuals.

Demonstrate electrical competency for troubleshooting and familiarity with electrical principles and components.

Weld and fabricate parts and equipment.

Use an electrical meter for testing purposes.

Maintain a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.

Understand piping systems, pipe fittings, pumps, motors, and valves.

Comprehend gearboxes, motors, bearings, sprockets, chains, bushings, belts, and pulleys.

Clean, repair, and install equipment and parts as needed.

Operate sit-down forklifts and/or articulating boom lifts.

Operate a variety of hand and power tools.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Comply with health and safety regulations.

Perform general maintenance work on buildings as assigned.

Maintain strong working relationships with all plant departments.

Write routine reports and correspondence.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with diaphragm pumps

Industrial maintenance experience

2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role

Preferred experience in a food manufacturing environment

Welding and/or fabrication experience preferred

High school diploma or GED

Trade certification or vocational school graduate

Strong computer skills

Physical dexterity and ability to perform physical tasks

Troubleshooting skills to identify and recommend solutions

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Knowledge of health and safety regulations

Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and/or push, pull, or move heavy machinery and/or drums

Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled food manufacturing plant with hot areas in refining and boiler rooms. Shifts available include 1st Shift (6:30am-3:00pm), Day Shift (6:30am-6:45pm on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule), Night Shift (6:30pm-6:45am on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule), and 3rd Shift (10:30pm-7:00am). You will work with a partner on your shift, with a heavy need for night shift technicians. Dress code includes wearing a hair/beard net, but being clean-shaven is not required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
